Jupiter boosts emerging markets

July 2, 2010

By Marcus Williams

Newly-listed Jupiter Asset Management has hired Kathryn Langridge as an emerging markets fund manager and will soon launch a new fund for her to run.

Langridge has over 20 years experience as an emerging markets manager and will join Jupiter's emerging markets fund desk in September from Lloyd George Asset Management, where she was managing long only emerging market money.

Jupiter has about £1.2bn invested in products covering many of the key emerging markets in the world.

The company, which raised £220m ($325m) in a London listing in June, intends to expand this range by launching a global emerging markets fund for Langridge to manage.
