US banking giant Citigroup has recruited Pawel Graniewski from Morgan Stanley to head its Warsaw-based investment-banking office as foreign investment banks swamp into Poland.
Other appointments besides Graniewski are expected as the bank hopes to profit from the government's privatisation programme.
A number of other banks recently announced plans to set up in Poland. UBS and Morgan Stanley both announced last month plans to open investment banking offices in the Polish capital while Credit Suisse has re-opened it brokerage business in the country.
Citigroup forecasts 15 initial public offerings in Poland this year, along with 25 share sales by companies already traded in Warsaw.
