Italy's UniCredit Securities has been hit by two more defections from its Russia team following the departures of analysts George Buzhenitsa and Natalia Smirnova for Deutsche Bank.

UniCredit has suffered a number of defections and departures from its research team, not least since Aton relaunched its institutional business last summer.

Moscow-based senior oil and gas analyst Pavel Sorokin last month quit to join Alfa Bank. London-based Mark Robinson also recently stepped as global head of equity research and chief strategist.

Buzhenitsa joins Deutsche from UniCredit where he covered Russian and Kazakhstan metals & mining and the fertilizer industries for almost three years, according to a statement today from the German bank. Smirnova was an equity analyst covering the consumer & retail sectors at UniCredit Securities (Moscow) and previously covered the same sectors at Uralsib Capital.
