Evening trade on RTS derivatives tops $600m

The RTS stock exchange posted a new record in trading volume during evening trading session on its FORTS derivatives platform.

By the end of the main trading session on July 23,  the total trading volume for futures and options had reached $614m which accounts for 35.26% of the daily turnover.

The previous record was registered on May 28, 2009 with the total trading volume during the evening session reaching $592m.

The evening trading session on FORTS which lasts from 6:00pm to 11:50pm MSK allows all categories of investors to realize a great number of interesting strategies and protect their investments into Russian assets in volatile times.

The FORTS futures market is Russia’s biggest floor for derivative trading. Nowadays, FORTS trades in 50 contracts for securities, interest rates, foreign exchange, precious metal, diesel fuel, crude oil, sugar and indices.

The evening session was introduced in May 2008 to enable investors to react to news from overseas.
